BURNESS. Dr. Manuel Burness, 82, who practiced dentistry in the Hartford, area for more than 40 years, died Tuesday, (August 13, 1996) in Durham, NC after a long illness. Dr. Burness was born in Hartford, the son of Leon and Jenny Burness. He had been married for 56 years to Frances Burness until her death last March. Dr. Burness was educated in the Hartford public schools and graduated from Weaver High School where he was elected president of his class and was a member of the championship tennis team,
