     Obituary: BEATON--Mae (nee Burness) died peacefully May 30, 2002 in Broadview, Sask., at the age of 94 years. She was born on her parents' homestead in the Munro District near Frobisher and Alameda, Sask., February 6, 1908. She was predeceased by her husband Mel Beaton in 1967, her parents James and Margaret (Munro) Burness, three brothers and four sisters. She is sadly missed by her son, Dr. Jim (Wanda) Beaton, Vancouver, B.C., her daughter, Maureen (Laurie) Fafard, Broadview, six grandsons; Jim Fafard, Allan (Sandra) Fafard, Dan (Judy) Fafard, Rick (Yoshimi) Beaton, Mel (Anna) Beaton, Tim (Cori) Beaton and ten great grandchildren, two sisters in law, Elma (Bill) Burness and Emma (David) Burness as well as many nieces and nephews and their families. She has lived in Broadview since 1932. She has resided in the Centennial Lodge since November 2000. A memorial service will be held in St. Andrew's United Church, Broadview, Sask., on Tuesday, June 4, 2002 at 11:00 a.m. with Brenda Lumsden officiating. The interment of cremated remains will be beside her husband in the Broadview Cemetery at a later date. Following the memorial service, a luncheon will be held in the Broadview Community Hall. Flowers gratefully declined. For those who wish, a donation to the Broadview Centennial Lodge Memorial Fund, Box 670, Broadview, Sask., S0G 0K0 or to a charity of ones choice would be appreciated. The family wishes to thank friends and the staff at the Centennial Lodge, the Broadview Union Hospital and Dr. DeWitt for their exemplary care and kindness to our Mom over the years.
