Mr. Burness was a conductor on the Pennsylvania Railroad in Philadelphia for 46 years before his retirement in 1969. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Marmora and had been a local painter. Surviving are a daughter: Alberta V. Seto of Marmora and four grandchildren. A Graveside Service will be offered Saturday, December 19, 1998 in Lawnview Cemetery, Rockledge, PA at ten o'clock.
